True Love Speaks to Your Soul

The Shulamite Seeks Her True Love

"By night on my bed, I sought the one I love; I sought him but did not find him. "I will rise now," I said, "and go about the city; in the streets and the squares, I will seek the one I love."
I sought him, but I did not find him. The watchmen who go about the city found me. I said, "Have you seen the one I love?"(Song of Solomon 3:1-3)

True Love Speaks to Your Soul

He connects with her innermost being; he listens intently. With compassion, he searches for the wounded child in her. Oh, how he longs to hold and comfort her; she looks away, ashamed he might see the raging sea within her. Yet, with his tender voice, he calms her soul. He is the eye of the storm; the calm steadfast love, she feels safe; he heard her cries in the night.

He gives her a new name no one knows; he calls her by the name he gave her, just between the two as a token of affection, an oath to God, a healing balm from the wounds of her past.

He draws from her well; he wants to know her deepest desires. He cleanses her from the muddy waters. The springs were blocked, and the fountain sealed. As a result, she finds her flow from within her again. He taps into her talents and awakens the things that have long been asleep. The breath of life he blows into the things long dead, her dry bones rise again, the dreams slayed by wicked men have risen again.

A fountain in the gardens of her heart waters the dry arid land, a well of living waters spills over, and streams wash over her and awaken a new life, no longer dormant. Her buds awaken and bloom in her fields of dreams. He tenderly unwraps the gifts within her, lovingly polishes them with words of kindness, and draws her out from the depths for all to see the woman of God suited in armor and girded with truth. She walks in peace with a shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit; she slays the enemy of her soul. Who is her lover, the lover of her soul? The King, the Lord Almighty, The Mighty Warrior, has set her free!
