As I ponder the end of this year and the beginning of a new year at midnight, I imagine myself walking out of my old ways of thinking, beliefs, and destructive habits, such as negativity, judgment, resentment, bitterness, and unforgiveness. These things are too heavy to carry. I am leaving behind my “Ego,” also coined as the Painbody (Eckhart Tolle); she brought so much trouble into my life. I am aware that she will try to show up again, but now I have the tools to keep her at bay by staying in the moment with Jesus, being a watcher, and accepting things and people as they are; I can only change myself. So I will leave those beliefs behind.
I imagine having a small backpack with the lessons I learned from 2022 as reminders. I know there will be times I will want to run backward, but I pray the Lord gives me the strength and courage to be steadfast on my journey for His purpose by the power of His Spirit. I also packed in my bag the sweet memories of God’s grace toward me during my darkest hours for hope as I walk into new beginnings for this new year, and I pray this for you as well, in Jesus’ name, amen.
P.S. If you scroll down, I left a few book referrals I have read that changed my life.
