"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with Me.
Revalation 3:20, NIV.

Every year my son was instrumental in opening the door to the New Year for me; my day would start with a smile; his acknowledgment of me and taking the time to bless me was like food for strengthening my soul for not only the day but as a years supply of substance to sustain me; hope for a future. When others criticized me, their words fell on deaf ears. The Lord knows our hearts and uses the people we love in our lives to shower His blessings and Love on us. It’s a special gift when someone near and dear to your heart welcomes you into their heart by thinking about you, speaking life-giving words to you, and extending that gracious welcome with the blessing of happiness to you and for you. So blessed is the nature of those who love the Lord and extends mercy and grace to you. So when someone says, Happy New Year, don’t dismiss it; it is a blessing to receive with a grateful heart. Unfortunately, my son is no longer here, but his words still speak to my soul though he is dead, and the Lord used another to welcome me into a future of hope. He isn’t a man of many words. However, when he speaks, I listen, believe what he says, and receive his blessings.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen Hebrews 11:1

I realize that many voices will try to mislead me down paths not intended for me; even my ego misleads me. Lord Jesus, please give me discernment and the wisdom to seek you first and listen to Your still, small voice from the depths of my being. I believe the word of God prepared the events of today; please give me eyes to see and ears to hear. Help me pause by the power of Your Holy Spirit before reacting and listen with an open heart without judgment. I believe God “is” and rewards all who seek You, listen to You, and are obedient to Your instruction. Thank You, Jesus, it is in Your Name I pray, amen.
