"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of all the earth. Acts 1:8
"This is how God showed His love among us; He sent His one and only Son into the world so that we might live through Him. This is Love; not that we loved God, but that He Loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sin. 1 John 4:9-10.
One evening while walking to my car after class at the community college, a young lady pulled up beside me and rolled down her window. At first, I thought she might ask me for directions. But unfortunately, I didn’t recognize her until she rolled down her window, and then I realized she was a classmate; she sat behind me and wrote her notes via laptop. So I could only see the top of her head. That was the part I recognized.
Anyhow, after she rolled down her window, she didn’t waste time asking me questions about myself or my beliefs; she plainly said that she knew I was a believer and asked if I would pray for her and her family; I was honored to oblige her request. As I walked away, I pondered why the Lord would choose me to witness to her; I am not a pastor or an evangelist, nor was I faithfully going to church; I still can’t quote scripture. Furthermore, like Moses, I can become tongue-tied. I know myself and my failures; I thought God must have made a mistake. However, God doesn’t make mistakes; His power is perfect in our weakness. The Holy Spirit reminded me of His grace toward me, a sinner saved by grace, and the faith to ask. Paul said, I no longer live, but the life I live, I live through Christ Jesus. I was encouraged Jesus would enable me to be a witness by the Power of His Holy Spirit to share the Good News of Salvation through Him as an instrument to shine His Light through us no matter where we are; shine His Light by your actions of love, and kindness towards others.
Heavenly Father, May the Light of Your Presence shine through the darkened hearts in these times and minister to those seeking comfort from the fear of the unknown. I ask for Your Divine Protection for Your servants and those whom You call into Your Kingdom. May You be known to them through Your Son, who dwells among us and in us by the power of Your Holy Spirit; to God be the praise and glory forever, amen.
