In the beginning, You spoke the word, and everything You said came to pass, and You said it was good. When You created man, You said it was very good. You created humans in Your image so we may have sweet fellowship with You, our Creator; how fearfully and wonderfully we are made. However, sin separated us when the first couple disobeyed Your word, and we continue doing so. But in Your mercy and grace, the Word became flesh, and the Word was God who came into this fallen, sinful world, making way by sending Your Son to pay the penalty of our crimes against You and die on the Cross. When He rose again on the third day, He set captives free and continued to do so, even till the end of time, through the power of Your Holy Spirit. This was Your plan from the beginning. You are the same, and even though the seasons change, You remain faithful to Your word. When You led the Israelites out of Egypt, You provided for their every need, and they continued complaining. May Your Holy Spirit speak life in the parts of me that remain exiled, and controlled by the fearful and anxious parts. May Your Spirit rule and reign in my heart, and govern my mind, thoughts, word, and deeds. Please season every spoken word that comes from my mouth with grace, and may my tongue speak truth and life over myself, my children, their children, and those around me. In Jesus’ name, amen
