Hear, O sons, a father’s instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight, for I give you good precepts; do not forsake my teaching. When I was a son with my father, tender, the only one in the sight of my mother, he taught me and said to me, “Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments, and live. Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; love her, and she will guard you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight. Prize her highly, and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you embrace her. She will place on your head a graceful garland; she will bestow on you a beautiful crown.”

Heavenly Father, instruct our hearts; give us wisdom and understanding. Thank You for giving us Your word, our daily bread, to sustain us in all our needs. You give sound doctrine, give us insight, and keep us from being tossed to and fro from the guiles of deception, even the deception of our flesh. Guard our hearts and minds, Holy Spirit, and empower us to follow Your commands; may no weapons used against us and our loved ones prosper. No weapon, physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual, has authority over us, for we are Your beloved, cleansed of all unrighteous with Your Precious Blood; thank You, Jesus. Therefore, when our enemies remind us of our past mistakes, You break the teeth of our accusers and cause their words to fall back on themselves; with this in mind, keep my mouth shut from speaking against myself and my thoughts from self-condemnation. Hear my prayers in the Mighty Name of Jesus, amen.
