The Dance that leads to Death

When I was a child, there was a fear-stricken rumor about a local dance club called “The Calderon.” The story was about a young woman who loved to go dancing, but on this particular night, her mother pleaded with her not to go; she was fearful for her daughter’s life.
Regardless, the young woman did not listen to her mother’s pleas. When she arrived at the dance hall, there she met a handsome man; all the women desired him, but he had his eyes fixed on her. He approached her and took her into his strong, masculine arms and began slow dancing with her; it was as if they knew each other all their lives, and she followed him as he led her to her final dance, the dance that led her to her death.
He knew everything about her. But she knew nothing about him! Later, they disappeared into the night. The next morning, as the owners of the bar were cleaning up, they walked into the women’s restroom and found the walls covered with blood, and they never found the body of the young woman. Rumor was that she was the woman who had danced with the devil. My grandfather was a musician, and his band played there; he never returned after that night.
What sin are you dancing with?
Is it addiction, alcohol, porn, etc.?
Ask yourself,
“Who is leading me in this dance that leads to death?
Sin That Leads to Death
“And she will bring forth a son, and you shall call his name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21
It was June 29, 2024, when I was driving to my local drug dealer to purchase my drug of choice, nicotine, which was, in some cases, socially acceptable. I cried out to God to help me stop. Rarely are you condemned for smoking or vaping. But you know in your heart that although everyone, or some around, is doing the same, it’s wrong; it is the lust of the flesh. That is fornication, and fornication is sin. I tried several times in the past to quit this disgusting habit, but like a co-dependent to a narcissistic lover, I kept going back.
It ruled over me, keeping me hidden and isolated from friends. Friends who could help me grow in the truth and knowledge of God. It is written that you become like those you keep company with. The temple in my heart was a den of thieves, and I needed JESUS to come in and flip the tables of idol worship, take the whip, and cast out every perverted demon from within. He said, My Father’s House is a house of Prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves!” I could not do this alone.
When I drove into the parking lot to buy another pack of cigarettes, I broke down in tears and cried to God to help me; this oppressor was too strong for me to beat alone. I desperately needed help. When I parked the car, I walked into the pharmacy and bought the patch instead. Please don’t be deceived; this was the hardest battle ever, and I needed an army to help me.
The Holy Spirit had already gone before me and shown me Zachariah 4. (Read it yourself.) He also encouraged me to tell some safe people (my army) and ask them to pray for me; this was spiritual warfare, and I needed some heavyweight prayer warriors who would not glorify themselves but give all the glory to God. I did not tell anyone else because I knew by now that some people who wished me harm and failure would sabotage my efforts.
On December 29, 2024, I will be free from the sin that leads to death. I will be celebrating my six-month rebirth in JESUS. He came into the filthy manger in my heart and saved me from my sins.
I was set free from the sin that leads to death, the sin of the flesh.
Romans 8:1
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin; He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”(Read the whole chapter and meditate on it).
Let your heart cry be the battle cry to the LORD OF HOSTS, in JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME. Say His name, with every wave, say His name, at the beat of every blow, say His Name! Say His name at every corner of your mind, where the addictive spirit hides. Call it out, and say its name, then call it out in the name above all names, say to your soul, “Open up, ancient gates, and let the KING OF GLORY, come in, KING OF KINGS, MIGHTY WARRIOR; say JESUS! (Psalm 24).

Heavenly Father, LORD OF HOSTS, I declare in the Mighty Name of Christ, Your Son, to condemn the sin of the flesh in us; LORD, let the Righteousness of Christ indwell in us and through us; victory is Yours, Mighty God, Hear and deliver Your Beloved who cries out to You, JESUS, for the deliverance from the captivity and strongholds of their sins. Send an army of mighty warriors, who will pray over them day and night, assign Your mighty angels to protect and fight for my loved ones; LORD, send Your devine intervention, let no weapon formed against us prosper physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. As You sent an army of Mighty Men to David when he was hiding from King Saul, who was out to kill him. LORD, this battle is not only external but internal as well. Rise above our flesh; lead us out of the shadows of our shame, and bring us into Your Wonderful Light, O God, and defeat our worst enemy within us, in JESUS’ NAME, AMEN!
