Bless the Lord, O My Soul
“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.”
— Psalm 103:1
Devotional Thought:
There are times when life feels unbearable—when family turns against us, when we are misunderstood, slandered, or abandoned. I know what it is to sit in darkness, crushed in spirit, and still hear the Lord whisper, “I am with you.”
Just as Moses endured gossip from his own brother and sister, and just as Jesus prayed forgiveness for those who nailed Him to the cross, God reminds us that He is near to the outcast and the brokenhearted.
Even when others mistreat us, the Lord does not forget us. He sees. He hears. He redeems. He crowns us with compassion and mercy. In those moments when I thought I was alone, I discovered that Jesus had already prayed for me, already carried my shame, and forgave my sins.
And so I say with the psalmist: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits!”
Prayer:
Father, I thank You for being with me in the darkest places. Even when others abandon me, You never leave my side. Teach my soul to bless Your Name in every season, for You are faithful and good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Reflection Question:
When have you felt most abandoned or misunderstood—and how did you see God’s presence with you in that season?
