Equipped For Battle: Mighty Warriors

Opening Prayer: Lord, thank You for the angels You send — those who fight for us in the Spirit, and those who walk beside us in flesh and blood. When fear surrounds me, remind me that You have already surrounded the fear. Thank You for the Mighty Warriors who reflect Your love and protection in my life. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, who is a man of war; The LORD is His Name. You are the Mighty Warrior, the King of all creation, Amen.

Scripture: “The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them.” — Psalm 34:7, -“The LORD is a man of war; The LORD is His name.” Exodus 15:3

Reflection: When I first started working as a paraprofessional, I had no idea I would be walking among mighty warriors.

At the time, my ex-husband was stalking me — even showing up at the school where I worked. I lived in fear, exhausted and desperate for safety. I finally confided in the principal and the resource officer, believing I might soon lose my job. I was ready to resign, prepared to give up.

But instead of rejection, I was met with compassion. One afternoon, as I prepared to leave work, the Principal, Assistant Principal, and Police Officer surrounded me and walked me to my car. They looked like Mighty Angels. In their quiet presence, I felt courage return to my soul.

That moment changed everything. It reminded me that God sends His warriors — both heavenly and human — to guard His children when the battle feels too heavy to bear. God’s warriors don’t always look like celestial beings, although they do surround us in the spiritual realm. His warriors can look like janitors, cleaning ladies, teachers, nurses, doctors, the nutty cross-walker (me), etc. You never know, the stranger walking next to you might be a mighty warrior sent by God in your time of need.

Even now, years later, though I no longer live as a victim, I continue working on my healing. And still, I see His Mighty Warriors around me: friends who pray, colleagues who care, strangers who show kindness. Angels walk beside us — in both realms — carrying strength, peace, and divine protection.

Prayer: LORD, thank You for the people and angels You send to stand beside us in our darkest hours. Help me to recognize Your hand in their help, and make me a Mighty Warrior for someone else who needs hope. Make me an instrument of Your peace, love, compassion, and hope as others have shown me through You.

Sacred Pause: Close your eyes and remember a time when someone stood beside you when you needed it most. Whisper a prayer of thanks — they were God’s messenger, His mighty warrior in your battle.

Journal Prompt: Who has been a Mighty Warrior in your life? How can you become one for someone who feels alone today?
