Evening Prayer — “The Breath of Scripture”
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
— 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)
Reflection:
As night draws near, we rest in the truth that God’s Word is alive — His very breath upon our souls.
Every line of Scripture carries His wisdom: it teaches when we don’t understand, corrects when we wander, and comforts when our hearts ache.
When we let the Word dwell richly within us, it becomes a gentle light for our path and a balm for every wound.
Through thanksgiving, our hearts open; through His Word, our healing deepens; through His Spirit, renewal begins again.
So tonight, let us be still — not empty, but filled.
Filled with gratitude for the Word that restores, the Savior who redeems, and the Spirit who renews all things.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
As I close this day, I thank You for Your living Word.
Breathe upon my heart again, Lord — cleanse what is weary, strengthen what is weak, and renew what has grown dim.
Let Your truth anchor me, Your grace cover me, and Your peace guard me through the night.
May I rise tomorrow with a heart eager to listen and a spirit ready to serve. In Jesus’ Mighty Name,
All glory and praise to You alone,
Soli Deo Gloria.
Amen.
