Today: Evening Prayer, Presence

Evening Prayer — Presence

(October 30)

Scripture:
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”Psalm 34:18

Reflection:
Today, I was reminded of the beauty of simply being present.
A student asked me to stand near during the school fire drill — not to speak, not to comfort, but just to be there.
Tomorrow marks four years since my son went home to Jesus, and while time has passed, the ache remains.
But today, the Lord met me again — through a friend’s compassion, a quiet check-in, and a small reminder:
I am with you.”

Through people, through small acts of care, through silence and kindness,
God’s Presence surrounds me like a soft light at dusk — tender, steady, and real.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your Presence —
for showing me You are near in the gentle moments,
in compassion shared and love remembered.
On days of deep memory,
let Your peace hold my heart close.
And teach me to be that same quiet presence
for someone else who walks in grief or fear.

Journal Prompt:
Where did I feel God’s Presence most clearly today?
What moment reminded me that I am not alone?
