Morning Reflection — Light Beyond the Veil
(October 31 — In Loving Memory of Ramon Liles, 9•20•1978 – 10•31•2021)
Scripture:
“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.” — Isaiah 9:2
This morning, the air feels quiet — sacred.
Four years have passed since Ramon stepped into eternity, yet his light still finds its way through the veil, shining through memory, laughter, and love that never fades.
Grief and gratitude hold hands today.
Though sorrow lingers, so does thanksgiving —
for every moment shared, every smile remembered, every reminder that love, once sown, is never lost.
The ache reminds me I am human;
the peace reminds me God is faithful.
Even when I can’t see clearly through the tears,
I trust the promise that one day, every tear will be wiped away,
and I will see my child again — whole, radiant, and forever safe in Jesus’ arms.
Today, I choose to remember not only what I’ve lost,
but what I’ve been given — love that still lives,
and the hope of reunion that anchors my soul.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the gift of Ramon —
for every heartbeat, every laugh, and every memory.
Even as I miss him deeply, I praise You for Your faithfulness,
for holding what I cannot, and healing what I cannot mend.
Let Your light fill this day with gentle peace —
and teach me to live with gratitude, even through tears,
until the day we meet again in Your Presence.
Journal Prompt:
What memories bring warmth to my heart today?
How is God turning my sorrow into quiet thanksgiving?
