Quiet Prayer to Begin
Father, as this new day opens before me, quiet my striving. Align my heart with Your Word. Let repentance keep me tender, and Your Spirit keep me steady. Amen.
A Prayer for Today
(Acts 20:24 & Psalm 16:9)
Lord,
Today I remember that my life is not my own.
Your Word says in Acts 20:24 that life is worth nothing to us unless we finish the race and complete the task You have given—to testify to the good news of Your grace.
So Today, I lay down comparison.
I lay down the distraction.
I lay down the need for recognition.
Let me not measure my life by comfort, applause, or ease—but by faithfulness.
If trials arise, anchor me.
If blessings come, humble me.
If decisions must be made, guide me.
I want to finish well.
Not hurried.
Not pressured.
But faithful.
And Your Word says in Psalm 16:9,
“Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure.”
So today, I choose gladness—not because everything is perfect, but because You are present.
Let my heart be glad in You.
Let my tongue speak gratitude instead of complaint.
Let my body rest secure—not anxious, not striving, not bracing.
You are my portion.
You are my security.
You are my inheritance.
Guard me from self-deception.
Guard me from distraction.
Guard me from stepping outside Your will in the name of urgency.
If Today requires courage, give it.
If Today requires restraint, strengthen it.
If Today requires waiting, steady me in it.
I do not want to merely get through this day.
I want to walk it with You.
Let me testify—through words and through posture—that Your grace is sufficient.
My heart is glad.
My tongue rejoices.
My body rests secure.
Because You are with me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
