Quiet Prayer to Begin
Lord Jesus, True Vine, draw me close before this day begins. Search me gently. Prune what must be pruned. Let repentance prepare the soil of my heart. Amen.
The Word is My Anchor
- “I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Farmer. Every branch in Me that doesn’t bear fruit, He takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” John 15:1-2
- “Do not let your hearts be troubles. You believe in God; believe also in Me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?” John 14:1
Father,
Today I choose to abide.
Your Son said, “I am the true vine.”
So I confess—I am not the source.
I am the branch.
Apart from You, I can do nothing.
If there is anything in me that does not bear fruit—
any attitude, attachment, distraction, or hidden pride—
remove it.
Not in anger.
But in mercy.
And where there is fruit forming—
prune me.
Trim what is excessive.
Cut back what is crowding intimacy.
Refine my motives.
Deepen my obedience.
Let pruning not offend me.
Let correction not harden me.
Let discipline not discourage me.
You prune what You Love.
Today, help me remain in Your Love.

When anxiety rises, remind me, You said,
“Do not let your hearts be troubled.”
You are preparing a place.
You are present through Your Spirit.
You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
When I am tempted to strive,
remind me to abide.
When I am tempted to control,
remind me to trust.
When I am tempted to run ahead,
remind me to remain.
Let my life bear fruit that reflects You:
Love that is patient.
Joy that is steady.
Peace that is anchored.
Obedience that is willing.
If something must be cut away Today.
Give me grace to release it.
If growth requires discomfort,
give me the courage to endure it.
I repent for trying to manufacture fruit on my own.
Forgive me for mistaking busyness for abiding.
Teach me to stay connected to the Vine.
Let this day not just be productive—
but fruitful.
Let my words reflect Your heart.
Let my decisions reflect Your truth.
Let my posture reflect Your peace.
Keep me close.
Keep me clean.
Keep me abiding.
In Jesus’ name, Soli Deo Gloria
Amen.
