A quiet prayer before we begin
Lord Jesus, quiet my heart before You. Let me not rush past Your greatness, but teach me to linger in wonder. Forgive me for the times I have lived distracted, forgetful, or slow to praise. Turn my heart again toward Your majesty and truth. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
What a beautiful portion of Scripture to sit with.
Psalm 145 is the song of a heart that has learned that praise is not only for special moments, but for every day. David does not praise God only when life feels easy or clear. He declares that he will extol the Lord forever and ever, because the worthiness of God is not based on changing circumstances. God is always great. God is always good. God is always worthy of praise.
And I Love how this psalm moves from personal praise to generational witness. David says, “One generation commends Your works to another.” That is such a holy picture. The goodness of God is not meant to be hidden in one heart alone. It is to be spoken, remembered, passed down, and lived out so that others may also know who He is.
The glorious splendor of His majesty is not something we can fully fathom, yet it is something we are invited to meditate on. We may never reach the end of His greatness, but we can keep returning to His works with awe. And as we do, something within us is shaped. Meditation on His wonderful works is not an empty thought; it is nourishment for obedience. As we remember who He is, our hearts are strengthened to live according to His Word.
Psalm 145 — Let Us Meditate on His Wonderful Works, Morning, Noon, and Evening
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I will exalt You, my God and King, and I will bless Your Name forever and ever. As this day begins, let praise rise in me before worry, before weariness, and before distraction. Great are You, Lord, and greatly to be praised. Even when I cannot fathom all Your ways, I can trust Your heart.
Teach me to remember Your mighty acts. Let me not live forgetful of Your faithfulness. Open my eyes to the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and steady my heart through the remembrance of Your goodness. Let this day begin with wonder and holy reverence.
In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Noon Reflection
David says one generation will commend God’s works to another. What a beautiful calling—to remember aloud the faithfulness of God so that others may also know Him.
In the middle of the day, when tasks pull at the mind, and burdens press upon the heart, pause and remember: the Lord has been faithful before, and He will be faithful again. His greatness is beyond what we can fully understand, yet His goodness meets us in ways we can clearly see. A prayer answered. A burden carried. A mercy given. A kindness remembered.
To meditate on His wonderful works is not to escape life, but to reenter it with a steadier heart. Praise becomes strength when remembrance is joined to trust.

Evening Prayer of Repentance and Renewal
Lord Jesus,
Forgive me for the ways I have forgotten You Today. Forgive me for every complaint, every anxious thought, and every hurried moment when I failed to remember Your greatness. Cleanse my heart of unbelief, dullness, and distraction.
Renew my mind tonight as I meditate on Your wonderful works. Let the memory of Your faithfulness quiet every fear and soften every weary place within me. Teach me to pass on the testimony of Your goodness, so that another generation may know that You are glorious, faithful, and true.
I bless Your Name at the close of this day, and I trust You with all that remains unfinished.
In Jesus’ Name, amen.
When the heart remembers His wonderful works, praise becomes the pathway back to trust.
