Day’s Journey for Children
Sometimes a mommy or daddy prays very hard for their child.
They ask Jesus:
“Please keep my child safe.”
“Please watch over them when I cannot.”
“Please comfort them when they are afraid.”
“Please be near when life feels hard.”
And the good news is this:
God hears the prayers of loving parents.
He sees every tear.
He knows every fear.
He cares for every child.
Jesus said,
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
That means when a parent is sad, worried, or crying out to God, the Lord is near to comfort them.
Jesus also said,
“Blessed are the poor in Spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
That means when we feel small and needy, we can run to God. His kingdom is a safe place for hearts that need His help.
A parent may not always know what to do next, but they can pray.
They can ask the Lord for wisdom.
They can ask Him for courage.
They can ask Him to put His strong arms around their child.
God is a shelter.
God is a helper.
God is a safe place.
Like a mother bird gathers her little ones under her wings, the Lord gathers those who belong to Him. He watches over children with tender care.
So if a home feels heavy, or a child feels afraid, a parent can whisper:
“Lord, cover my child.”
“Lord, keep my child.”
“Lord, help us.”
And He hears.
A prayer for parents
Dear Lord Jesus,
Please protect my child. Cover them with Your Love and keep them safe. When I feel afraid, help me trust You. When I feel weak, be my strength. Watch over my child at home, at school, and everywhere they go. Let Your peace rest on our family. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
A little prayer for children
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for loving me. Please help my mommy, daddy, or the grown-ups who care for me trust You. Keep me safe, hold me close, and let me rest under Your peace. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
The Lord hears the cry of a parent and holds little ones close under His wings.
