Prayer for Children, Youth, and the Hopeless

LORD, King of Glory,
let Grace come running to those who feel alone.

LORD, King of Glory,
open up the gates of heaven,
and let Hope shine like the morning sun
in darkened hearts.

O LORD, King of Glory,
let Prudence guard our children’s steps.

Assign Courage as mighty men.
to stand at the gates where Wisdom lives,
drawing captives into the City of the LORD.

Open up, ancient doors,
and let the King of Glory enter.

Who is this King of Glory?

The LORD, strong and mighty.
The LORD, mighty in battle.

Rise, O God,
and deliver our children from the spirit of suicide.

Silence the mouth of death,
and let life speak loudly
in Jesus’ Name.

Open the gates where darkness has tried to imprison them,
and cause the enemy to fall into his own traps.

Save the works of Your hands, O God.

Rescue the lonely.
Strengthen the weary.
Guard the vulnerable.
Comfort the grieving.
Awaken the hopeless.
Surround the brokenhearted with safe people, wise counsel, and holy help.

Let every child and every young person know:

They are not forgotten.
They are not alone.
They are not beyond help.
They are not beyond hope.

Let the light of Christ break through the tunnel.
Let Your truth rise over every lie.
Let Your mercy run faster than despair.
Let Your Love reach them before death can speak.

King of Glory, come in.

Let life speak loudly.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.
