Mother’s Day is only a few days away, and I made a post earlier on Facebook asking Mom’s to throw out some hints as to what they would like for Mother’s Day? It was nice to see a few funny responses, but I also heard the hearts of those who did not respond, because Mother’s Day can be one of the loneliest or most painful days of the year for her. I want you to know that you are being thought of and that you are ‘NOT ALONE!” So I wrote down what you could not, because I want you to be heard.
This is what I heard you say:
“I would like my children to spend time with me at least on this day”.
“I would like to get a phone call”
“I would like to hold my baby one more time!”
“I wish my mom was still here, so I can tell her I love her, and thank her for doing the best she could when she raised me/us alone!”
“I wish my grown children can forgive me for not being the perfect mom”
“I wish I could have told my mom I loved her regardless of her imperfections”
There are so many Mother’s who are hurting during this season. Please think of them, and say a prayer for comfort to those who have lost a child, who have been forgotten by their grown children for what ever reason; we don’t need to know the details. No one is perfect, there is no perfect Mother’s out there, and if there are; well, this isn’t for her. If you know someone who spending Mother’s Day alone; a neighbor, friend, loved one, and you just want to bless her, add an extra place setting at your table and invite her over. Or, if you are alone, reach out and share a cup of coffee; there are so many ways we can bless eachother.
Happy Mother’s Day The Lord Remember’s all your Tears.
Psalms 126: 4Restore our fortunes,126:4 Or Bring back our captives Lord, like streams in the Negev.5Those who sow with tearswill reap with songs of joy.6Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.
