Gifts from Above

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Ephesians 2:8‭-‬9

“Be strong and of good courage; fear not, nor be afraid of your enemies, because the Lord is with us, He will never fail us or forsake us.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Yahweh, the greatest gift You gave to humanity was the gift of Your Only Begotten Son, whom You sent into the world, wrapped in a swaddle; the Perfect Lamb of God who takes away the world’s sins. Before He died on the Cross, He prayed and asked that You protect us from the evil one, provide, and guide us in Your truth. So give us, and the generations after us, the Gift of Faith in Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Lord, like Joshua, give us the gifts of a courageous spirit and the confidence David had in You when he fought Goliath. They did not depend on their strength but trusted in the Mighty Warrior who walks amongst His people and who fights for those who call upon You and trust in You. So don’t let Fear and Anxiety take dominion over our minds and hearts; replace them with Courage and Confidence because we know You are a faithful and loving God who delights in His creation and those who seek Your help and guidance. Thank You, Jesus, amen.
