Today

Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up. The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray. The lazy do not roast any game, but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt. Life is in the way of righteousness; along that path is immortality.
Proverbs 12:25‭-‬28 NIV

When my heart is anxious, Holy Spirit reminds me that we are not alone; You are with us, and You give the peace that surpasses all understanding as we walk through this day. Lord, surround us with wise friends who point to You and help me do the same when my friends are anxious. A kind word from a friend is like soothing ointment for the soul; it opens our eyes to the inward pain of others so that we may get in the well with them. May the words of our lips calm the storms that rage against their hearts, and please turn the eyes of the wicked who lead astray with their deceptive words away from us, our children, and their offspring; may the Light of Your Presence cause them to fear with trembling and flee. It is Jesus’ Name I pray, amen, amen.
