The Heavenly Hope

Hebrews 11:13- These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 Those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. 15 And truly, if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had the opportunity to return. 16 But now they desire better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

LORD, You have brought me out of the familiar, and for a while, I wondered if I wandered on a path of my design. I was complacent in my sins; however, by faith in Your mercy, You brought me out and sent me on the journey to Your promised land. Even so, the faith I received was a gift from You. As I pilgrimage to a heavenly country, a city on a hill, and heaven-bound, I pray for those I encounter on my day’s journey. I pray for the lost to be found, I pray for those who are grieving to be comforted. I pray for captives to be set free, for the weary to be refreshed, and for needs to be met by the richness of Your abounding love and faithfulness. I praise You, LORD, be exalted above all things that are not from You, and for Your glory, in Jesus’ Mighty Name, amen.
