Unity in the Spirit

Acts 4:23-And being let go, they went to their own companions. They reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. 24 So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said:
“LORD, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, 25 who by the mouth of Your servant David have said:
“Why did the nations rage, and the people plot vain things? 26 The kings of the took their stand, and the rulers were gathered together against the LORD and His Christ.”
27 “For truly against Your Holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed. Both Herod and Pontius Pilate with the Gentiles and the people of Israel. They were gathered together to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done. (Holy Bible, NKJV, Thomas Nelson, 1982).
Peter and John healed a crippled man. The Sadducees’ did not believe in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, and they locked them up for the night. They tried to intimidate Peter and John into silence.
“They went to their own companions, they raised their voice in prayer to God in one accord.”
There will be times when the devil will use people, and some unsuspecting ones, to silence your testimony. Opposition in specific groups can be hostile, uninviting, or toxic. Dr. Henry Cloud’s book, Safe People, taught me that not everyone is safe. It’s best to move on after discerning. The LORD God will sometimes allow situations like these to redirect, so instead of bemoaning, trust God’s leading. The Apostles did good for a helpless man. Yet, the religious leaders questioned them and tried to twist their words and their good deeds. Thank God, the Holy Spirit interceded and spoke boldly through Peter! It’s also encouraging that the Scripture says, “They went to their own companions.” It took me a long time to realize that not all so-called Christians are your companions. Nor are all churches the same. Let God be the Judge. This realization caused me a lot of confusion and heartache. Let’s not forget the wolves who pursue you relentlessly. These spiritual perverts follow you even after you’ve made it clear that you don’t want them in your life. After my ex-husband’s suffering caused me to fear God, I let God be the Judge of hearts. Peter and John went to their own companions and told them what had happened! After hearing them, they joined in one accord and prayed. They did not gaslight them, as the serpent did to Eve in the garden.
You are the same LORD from everlasting. You are the Ancient of Days, YAH, I AM, who never changes. You do not forget Your promises to those who believe. You remember those who obey Your Word. Help us to follow Your Word by Your Spirit. Remove any religious spirits within me, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. You are our Strength and our Shield. Cover us with Your feathers and keep us hidden with Christ in You. You are not co-dependent on our sins. Take away the sins of the flesh, and the world. Cleanse us of all unrighteousness. Fill us with the Righteousness of Christ Jesus, and deliver us from all evil. Look at the threats of those who oppose Your servants, stand up and defend Your cause, Mighty God. Remind us that opposition is a cue to prayer. Grant to Your servants the courage to speak Your word boldly. Stretch out Your hand to heal. Let Your signs and wonders be done through the Name of Your Holy Servant. You sent Him to seek and to save. He is our Savior and Redeemer, JESUS CHRIST, Your Only Begotten Son.
