When Silence Becomes Harm
Day’s Journey — Micro Devotional
A Quiet Prayer to Begin
Lord,
Forgive me for the times I allowed silence to wound me more than words.
Heal the places where betrayal broke trust.
Restore my discernment and my peace.
In Jesus’ Name, amen.
Scripture Sidebar

Reflection
Silent treatment is one of the most painful forms of abuse.
It wounds not only when it comes from an abuser,
but when it comes from people you trusted—
people who believed lies without seeking the truth,
and treated you with indifference.
Abusers often pretend to be the victims.
And others, instead of discerning, stay silent—
watching, observing, doing nothing.
There is a difference between watchers and watchmen.
Watchers see and remain passive.
Watchmen see, pray, and sometimes intervene.
God never calls His people to cold indifference.
Love does not abandon truth.
Silence that protects harm is not neutrality—it is participation.
Sacred Pause
Place your feet firmly on the ground.
Ask gently:
“Lord, who has truly watched over me?”
Prayer
God of justice,
Heal the wounds left by silence and betrayal.
Surround me with watchmen, not watchers—
people who Love truth and act in compassion.
In the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.
