“He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.”
Father in Heaven,
Today we repent for the old striving—the belief that if we could find the perfect prayer, the perfect wording, the perfect performance, then You would finally answer us. Forgive us for praying as though we must impress You, persuade You, or earn Your mercy. Forgive us for the fear that made You seem small and harsh in our minds, instead of the Father who draws near in love.
Jesus, You taught us that the Kingdom of Heaven is like yeast—hidden, quiet, and faithful—working its way through the whole dough (Matthew 13:33). So LORD, we invite Your Kingdom to work in us like that today. Not loud religion. Not anxious control. Not spiritual perfectionism. But Your steady, transforming presence—moving through every corner of our hearts, renewing our minds, healing our wounds, and reshaping what has been hardened by fear.

Mix Your truth into us until it works all through the dough:
through our thoughts, our reactions, our memories, our relationships, and our speech.
Let Your Love rise in us—patient, kind, merciful, compassionate—Word in action.
Where we’ve been bound by performance, set us free into relationship.
Where we’ve been tempted to hide, teach us to abide.
Where we’ve felt powerless, remind us that Your Kingdom is already at work, even when we cannot see it.
LORD, make our prayers simple and sincere. Teach us to come as children—trusting Your heart, trusting Your timing, trusting Your goodness. And as Your Kingdom works through us, let it also work through our homes, our classrooms, our communities—until Your peace and order are made evident.
We surrender our need to be “perfect,” and we receive Your perfect Love.
In Jesus’ Name, amen.
