The Owner will Set the Table Upright: Stay on the Path

The Lord Confirms in Real Life

Prescott, Lynx Lake, and “Stay on the Path”

This is where God’s kindness becomes personal—because what He speaks in a dream, He often confirms through lived experience.

In Prescott, I felt alone and abandoned; however, I did not realize that God surrounded me with godly men and women who helped me in countless ways.

One day, I went to Lynx Lake and decided to walk along the hiking path. It was a weekday, and there were only a few men fishing. I sat on a rock, taking pictures of the ducks. It was a beautiful day, and the sounds of nature were so refreshing. I anticipated walking alone because I was still fearful, but I needed to face my fears.

I asked the men where this path would take me, and one said it was safe and circled around the lake, bringing me back to where I started. As I began my trek, another man hollered, “Stay on the path.” When I turned to respond, all three were watching over me. I smiled and thanked the Lord; they felt like angels watching over me.

Another time, I was afraid to leave the house. My friend and neighbor noticed I was isolated again and didn’t go to church. I told her I feared my ex would show up because he learned I was in Prescott. She smiled and reminded me that Prescott was a city of veterans, and the church was full of soldiers, police officers, and sheriff deputies. She also said some of our neighbors were retired law enforcement. I praised the Lord because I was unaware of His protective hand around me.

The Holy Spirit ministered to me and led me to 1 Samuel 18–31. David fled and hid from King Saul, who was trying to kill him, and the Lord sent men of valor to help him.

That is wisdom in motion: God did not shame David for needing refuge. He guided him. He provided help. He placed protection along the path. And in my fear, God was doing something similar—showing me that I was never truly alone, even when I felt alone.

The Thread That Ties the Dream and the Testimony Together

In Linda’s dream parable, Linda is on a journey; she receives fruit, sees an overturned table, and learns that the Owner will set it upright.

At Lynx Lake, I was on a path; I received guidance; I feared being alone; and God showed me this: help was already stationed.

So the wisdom is the same:

  • Stay on the path.
  • Receive what God gives for today.
  • Don’t overcarry tomorrow’s burden.
  • Trust the Owner to restore what belongs to Him.
  • Recognize the watchmen God has already positioned.

Sometimes our greatest breakthrough is not the removal of fear, but the revelation of covering.

Sacred Pause

Breathe in: Jesus, You are the Owner.
Breathe out: I release what is Yours to restore.

Breathe in: I am not alone.
Breathe out: The Lord surrounds me.

Journaling Prompts

  1. What “fruit” has God given me recently—small provisions that were exactly what I needed?
  2. What “table” feels overturned right now (peace, belonging, trust, calling, family, community)?
  3. Where am I trying to fix something in my own strength that Jesus is asking me to surrender into His hands?
  4. What does “stay on the path” look like for me this week—boundaries, routines, community, wise counsel?
  5. Who are the “men and women of valor” God has positioned around me—watchmen I may have overlooked?

Prayer of Repentance and Wisdom

Lord Jesus, forgive me for striving to fix what only You can restore. Forgive me for carrying anxiety like it is wisdom, and for confusing urgency with obedience. I repent for taking ownership of burdens You never assigned to me.

Thank You for the fruit You provide—daily strength, daily bread, daily grace. Teach me to receive what You place in my hands and to release what belongs to You. You are the Owner. You are faithful. You are not late. You will set the table upright in Your time, and You will serve the meal You wrote from the beginning.

Surround me with Your protection. Open my eyes to the watchmen You have stationed. Lead me like You led David—into wisdom, refuge, and courage—and keep me steady as I walk forward.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
