Psalm 91 + Psalm 23 to “Stay on the path” in times of war.
Let Our Eyes be Fixed On Our Defender
With wars all around us, I remember to stay anchored to the Word—Psalm 91 and Psalm 23. The LORD is not blind to what is happening on the earth; He is not distant, confused, or outmatched. His blessed assurance is not a fragile feeling—it is His promise. And that promise has a Name. The Word became flesh, and Christ—God’s Son—stepped into a world of blood and sorrow to bring us a Kingdom that cannot be shaken. So when headlines rage and nations tremble, I return to the Shepherd who leads me, to the refuge who covers me, and to the table He prepares. I do not deny the danger; I declare the Defender. I stay on the path—because the path is Presence, and His Presence is peace.
Prayer of Trust and Repentance
Lord Jesus, You are my Shepherd and my refuge. When fear rises in me because of wars, rumors, and unrest, draw me back under the shadow of the Almighty. Forgive me for the times I have meditated on bad news more than I’ve meditated on Your Word. I repent for partnering with anxiety, for rehearsing worst-case outcomes, and for letting dread lead my thoughts.
Teach me to stay on the path of obedience—steady, humble, and calm. Cover my mind with Your peace. Guard my home, my family, and our rest. Strengthen Your people, protect the innocent, protect our Servicemen and women, and bring justice where evil is advancing. Prepare a table for Your children even in the presence of enemies, and let Your name be honored in the earth.
I choose to trust You again—Today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
