Day’s Journey Youth: Gather Us, O Lord

Lord Jesus, help young hearts know that no one is beyond Your Love. Teach us to remember how You found us, so we can pray with hope for others. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Gather Us, O Lord

Sometimes God uses small moments to remind us that we are seen.

One day, a grocery store clerk ran after me just to compliment my long curly hair. It may sound small, but at that time, I was hurting deeply and felt forgotten. Through that simple kindness, it felt like God was saying, “I see you. I hear you. You are Mine, and I Love you.”

Years later, I saw him again and asked if he would spend Easter with his family. He answered, “I don’t believe in Easter or God.” His words made me sad, because they reminded me of who I used to be before God met me and changed my life.

So now, when I think of him, I do not think with judgment. I think with prayer.

God gathered me when I was lost, and He can gather others, too.

Jesus said that whoever hears His word and believes has crossed over from death to life. That means no one is too far gone. God still sees. God still calls. God still gathers.

So I pray:

Lord, gather us like a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wings. Bring the lost home. Let those who do not yet believe come to know Your Love. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Amen.

When God has gathered your heart, you begin to pray for others to come home too.
