Today: How Beautiful Are the Feet

“And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Paul wrote, “My heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.” There is such tenderness in those words. He was not speaking as one above them, but as one who loved them deeply. He could see their zeal for God, yet he grieved because their zeal was not rooted in the knowledge of Christ. They were striving after righteousness, but not receiving the righteousness that comes by faith.

How often the heart feels this same sorrow now.

A quiet prayer before these words settle

Lord Jesus, keep my heart tender toward those who do not yet know You. Guard me from despair, from pride, and from weariness in prayer. Let the good news of Christ remain beautiful in my heart, and let hope rise again for those still finding their way home. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

We see those we Love trying, searching, resisting, or building their own way toward peace, while still turning away from the only Savior who can truly give it. The law itself showed what righteousness required, but no human heart can fulfill it on its own. Our hearts are marked by sin. We cannot save ourselves by effort, by zeal, or by moral striving. Christ is the culmination of the law, so that righteousness may be given to everyone who believes.

And yet, when I begin to feel disheartened over those who have refused the message, the Lord stirs hope in me again. Joy rises like a new song. For when even one turns to God through Christ, it is never only about that one life. Grace begins to move through places we cannot yet see. Healing touches generations after them. The good news does not stop at one doorstep; it keeps traveling.

So I hold sorrow and hope together.

I grieve for those who do not yet believe.
And I rejoice that the gospel still has power.
I sorrow over resistance,
and I sing because Christ still saves.

How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news! Beautiful are the feet that keep walking in prayer. Beautiful are the feet that keep carrying hope. Beautiful are the feet that do not give up on the wandering, because they know what it is to have Christ find them and save them from their sins.

Sacred Pause

Who has the Lord placed on your heart Today?
Do not force the outcome.
Do not carry what belongs to God alone.

Simply bring them before Him again.

The One who saved you can reach them, too.

A quiet prayer of repentance and renewal

Lord Jesus,
Forgive me for the times I have let discouragement quiet my prayers for the lost. Forgive me for every place where sorrow has slipped into unbelief. Keep my heart soft, hopeful, and full of compassion for those who are still striving without knowing You.

Thank You that righteousness does not come by human effort, but by faith in You. Thank You that You are the end of striving and the fulfillment of the law. Strengthen me to keep carrying the good news with humility, with tenderness, and with hope. And when one turns to You, let my heart rejoice not only for them, but for the generations Your mercy will touch through their yes.

In Jesus’ Name, amen.

When even one heart turns to Christ, heaven hears not only a rescue but the first notes of a new song for generations to come.
