Mahle Learns That Weakness Can Be a Praise

With Joppa and Friends

Dear Jesus, help us remember that we do not have to be big, strong, or perfect for You to Love us. Meet us in our weakness, and teach us to trust Your grace. Amen.

One morning, Mahle the Spotted Lamb woke up feeling weak.

His little legs felt tired. His heart felt heavy, and he did not feel very brave at all.

“I don’t feel strong Today,” Mahle whispered.

Joppa the Ostrich heard him and walked over gently. Millo, the little bird, sat quietly on Joppa’s shoulder.

“What’s wrong, Mahle?” Joppa asked.

Mahle looked down at the grass. “My name means weakness,” he said softly. “Sometimes I wonder if that means something is wrong with me.”

Millo chirped kindly, “Oh, Mahle, weakness does not mean you are not loved.”

Just then, Rafi-Owl flew down from a branch with his little Bible tucked under his wing.

“I know a verse for Today,” Rafi said.

Rafi opened the Bible and read: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”2 Corinthians 12:9

Mahle blinked. “God’s power is made perfect in weakness?”

“Yes,” said Joppa. “That means when we feel weak, we can bring our weakness to Jesus. We do not have to hide it.”

Mahle’s eyes filled with tears. “But what if I still feel weak after I pray?”

The lion came walking through the meadow, gentle and strong.

He sat beside Mahle and said, “Then My grace is still enough.”

Mahle leaned close to Lion.

“So I can praise God even before I feel better?” Mahle asked.

“Yes,” said Lion. “You can praise Him because He is good. You can praise Him because He is with you. You can praise Him because His Love does not leave when you feel weak.”

Mahle took a deep breath.

Then he whispered, “Jesus, in my weakness, Your strength is good. Thank You for loving me.”

Joppa smiled. Millo chirped softly. Rafi-Owl nodded wisely.

And Mahle learned something very important that day:

Weakness is not a place to be ashamed. Weakness can become a place where Jesus shows His Love, His grace, and His strength.

Mahle still felt small. But he did not feel alone because Lion was near.

Heart Lesson

Sometimes we feel weak, tired, sad, afraid, or not strong enough.

But Jesus does not turn away from us.

He says:

“My grace is sufficient for you.”

That means His Love is enough. His help is enough. His presence is enough for Today.

We can tell Jesus the truth about how we feel, and we can still praise Him while we wait.

Memory Verse

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9

Reflection Questions

  1. Have you ever felt weak, tired, or afraid like Mahle?
  2. What did Lion tell Mahle about grace?
  3. How can you praise Jesus when you do not feel strong?

Prayer of Repentance

Dear Jesus,

Please forgive me for the times I thought weakness meant something was wrong with me. Forgive me for hiding my feelings or trying to be strong without You. Forgive me for complaining before trusting, and for forgetting that Your grace is enough for me. Help me bring my weakness to You. Help me praise You even as I wait. Thank You that Your power is made perfect in weakness.

Thank You for loving Mahle, and thank You for loving me. When I feel weak, remind me that I am not alone. Help me remember that Your grace is enough for Today.

Let Your strength rest on me. Let Your Love comfort me.
Let my weakness become a place where You are praised.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.

Soli Deo Gloria
