When Weakness Becomes a Place of Praise
Lord Jesus, meet us in the places where we feel weak. Teach us not to hide our pain from You, but to bring it into Your presence. Let Your grace be enough for Today. Amen.
The group was sitting together after school when Matthias leaned back on the bench and winced.
Kayden noticed right away. “Are you okay?”
“My back hurts,” Matthias said quietly. “It’s been hurting since this morning.”
Brent looked concerned. “That’s rough. Did you pray about it?”
Matthias nodded. “Yes, but this time I didn’t start by complaining. I started by proclaiming God’s Word.”
Kazim leaned forward. “What did you say?”
Matthias took a breath and said, “In my weakness is Your strength, O LORD. I praise You for Your steadfast Love and faithfulness. Be exalted in my weakness.”
Azzah paused with her sketchbook in her lap. “Did the pain go away?”
Matthias shook his head. “No. Not right away.”
For a moment, the group was quiet.
Then Matthias continued, “But I still had peace. I opened my Bible app, and the verse of the day was exactly what I needed.”
He read aloud:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”

Kayden’s eyes softened. “So God met you there.”
“He did,” Matthias said. “Not by instantly removing the pain, but by reminding me that His grace was already present.”
Brent looked down at his hands. “Sometimes I think if God doesn’t fix something right away, maybe He isn’t listening.”
Kazim nodded. “Yeah. Especially when you’re hurting.”
Azzah gently closed her sketchbook. “But maybe weakness doesn’t mean God is far away. Maybe weakness becomes a place where we learn how close He really is.”
Matthias smiled a little. “That’s what I’m learning. Pain may still be present, but grace is present too. Weakness may still be felt, but Christ’s power is not absent.”
Kayden said softly, “So we can praise Him before the healing comes?”
“Yes,” Matthias said. “Because God is still good. His Love is still faithful. And whatever He is doing in us is very good.”
The group sat together in the warm afternoon light. No one tried to rush the lesson. No one pretended pain was easy. But they remembered something important:
Jesus does not waste weakness.
He meets us there.
He strengthens us there.
He teaches us to worship there.
And when we feel weak, His grace is still enough.

Do I only praise God after He answers, or can I praise Him while I wait?
Where do I need to trust that His grace is sufficient Today?
Prayer of Repentance
Lord Jesus,
Forgive me for the times I have complained before trusting, feared before praying, or believed my weakness meant You were not near.
Forgive me for thinking I had to be strong on my own. Forgive me for hiding my pain instead of bringing it to You.
Teach me to proclaim Your Word when I feel weak. Teach me to praise You while I wait. Let Your power rest on me in the places where I feel fragile, tired, or afraid.
Thank You that Your grace is sufficient for me. Thank You that Your power is made perfect in weakness.
Be exalted in my weakness, Lord.
