A Children’s Day Journey Reflection
Lina was a little deer with soft brown eyes, tiny white spots, and a heart that missed her father very much.
Every morning, she would walk to the edge of the meadow and look down the path. She remembered how her father used to walk beside her.
He would nudge her gently when she was afraid. He would stand close when the forest felt too big. He would remind her, “You are loved, little one.”
But now her father was gone, and the path felt quiet.
One day, Lina saw Rafi-Owl flying toward her with something tucked carefully in his beak.
“Lina,” Rafi said softly, landing beside her, “this came for you.”
Lina blinked through her tears.
“For me?”
Rafi nodded and placed a small folded letter near her hooves. Lina’s heart began to beat fast. She opened the letter carefully. Inside were words written just for her:
“My precious Lina,
When you miss me, remember you are never alone.
Love does not disappear just because someone goes home to Heaven.
The Lord is near to your broken heart, and He will walk with you every day.
You are loved, little one. Always.”
Lina held the letter close to her heart. Her tears fell onto the page, but this time they were not only sad. They were thankful tears, too.
Just then, Lion stepped gently into the meadow. His mane shone softly in the morning light.
“Lina,” Lion said, “your father’s love was a gift. But My Love will carry you all the way home.”
Lina looked up.
“Will You stay with me when I miss him?”
Lion lowered His great head close to hers.
“I am near to the brokenhearted,” He said. “And I will never leave you.”
Lina leaned against Lion’s strong side. For the first time in a long while, the meadow did not feel empty. The letter reminded her that Love was still real. And Lion reminded her that God’s Love was even closer than the words on the page.

Sometimes we miss someone we Love so much that our hearts feel heavy. But Love does not end when someone goes to Heaven.
God gives us memories, kind words, special letters, and gentle reminders to help our hearts keep breathing. And most of all, He gives us Jesus—our Lion of Judah—who stays close when we are sad.
Write a Letter to Jesus
When I feel sad, I tell Jesus how I feel. He loves me, and He understands.
When I miss someone I Love, I remember that God is close to me.
I thank God for the Love I received from the people in my life.
A Little Prayer
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for coming close to me when my heart feels sad. Thank You for the people who have loved me, cared for me, and helped me feel safe. When I miss someone I Love, please remind me that I am not alone. Stay close to me, Lord. Help me remember Your Love every day. Amen.
Prayer of Repentance
Dear Jesus, Forgive me for the times I forget that You are near. When I think I have to carry my sadness all by myself. Help me bring my tears, my questions, and my heart to You.
Thank You for loving me with a Love that never leaves. Amen.
