Today

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—will be blessed in what they do.

Father of the heavenly lights, maker of all good things who chose to give us birth through the word of truth, I praise Your holy name. Thank You, Father, for Your willingness to guide and direct us in the Way by Your Word. Please give us the gift of Wisdom. Jesus, may the power of Your Holy Spirit empower us to do Your word, which enables and sustains us in everything we say and do. May my lips be slow to speak, my ears be quick to listen, and my flesh be slow to become angered. We are the Righteousness of God through Your Son, Jesus Christ. May the fulness of Christ be evident in every word, and deed, that He be glorified. May Your Holy Spirit rule in our hearts and govern our minds and lead us away from the temptations of the evil desires of the flesh, so we may produce the good fruit You desire, in Jesus’ name, amen.
