“By this, we know love because He laid down His life for us, and we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. “1 John 3:16.

The United States was called “The Sleeping Giant” because the enemy attacked Pearl Harbor while we were sleeping. The U.S was distracted by complacency. This is a physical metaphor for our spiritual slumber, in which unseen forces lay traps for our downfall while we are distracted or spiritually asleep.

Now, we have been awakened from slumber and have been engaging in spiritual warfare. Yet, the LORD assures us, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper.” However, like the watchmen at a lighthouse, we need to stay awake and pray for our loved ones and fellow men and women. It’s time for us to awaken from our slumber, stop lying around like sleeping dogs, wipe the grime of deception from our eyes, and recognize that prayer is an ongoing dialogue with a Mighty God, Whom every knee shall bow and every tongue confess as LORD. I’ve learned that the louder the opposition, the harder I pray, so don’t think for one minute that I am not awakened to schemes of my enemies and those who desire harm to me or my beloved; my banner is raised!

Every day, evil lurks to destroy what God intends for the good of all His creation; everything created was created through Him, by Him, and for His glory. We see the beauty of His handiwork, from the sun’s rising to its setting, and that’s not because of our ability. It’s because of the Goodness of God and the men and women who keep us safe so we can enjoy the many benefits of the LORD. We get to live in the land of freedom, the promised land many search for, yet we think it’s by our own doing.

The spirit of entitlement demands God’s blessing, as if God owes us anything; God owes us nothing, and nothing should be taken for granted. It wasn’t until I lost everything that I gained understanding, Love, and respect for God and my fellow man/women and especially for those who protect our walls day and night. Watchmen who keep us safe from our country’s borders to our neighborhood.

Let the Holy Spirit rule and reign in us and through us, shining the Light of God’s Presence. Expose and expel every enemy plan with His Holy Fire in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen
