God is Sovereign

Psalm 33:1-5 “Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful. 2 Praise the LORD with the harp; make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings. 3 Sing to Him a new song, play skillfully with a shout of joy. 4 For the Word of the LORD is right, and all His work is done in truth. 5 He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.”
“How can someone who had lost everything, mainly her child, praise the LORD? “
Those words penetrated my soul whenever the Word said, “Praise Me.” I argued that I was realistic, but little did I know, the spiritual comes before the physical. The outer world is the effect of the inner world. What I was thinking passed through my lips unbridled and unfiltered. I spoke through unresolved pain, unrepentant pride, and grief. Sometimes it’s hard to find the praise in a reservoir of sorrow and grief. As you thank the LORD more, your mourning turns into dancing. The oil of joy falls upon you to glorify God.
I noticed my inner man because of a maintenance man at my school. He mirrored my inner self. I stood in the cafeteria watching over my special education group. He stood next to me and complained about everything. He didn’t stop for air. He went on and on until I couldn’t take it anymore.
I listened to the “Word’s Matter ” song by Fearless Soul. As I listened, I began thanking God for everything. Instead of complaining about what I didn’t have, I focused on gratitude. I’ve also heard a saying, “The more you complain, the more you will have to complain about.” In contrast, I removed complaining from my mind. I welcomed gratitude as my new roommate—gratitude ushers in the Goodness of God. If you don’t know where to start, read the whole text of Psalm 33. Do it in JESUS’ NAME. He is the WORD, and He is, AMEN.
