Prayer

Lord God,
Forgive me for believing the lies spoken over me
when I did not yet know what Love looked like.
Open my eyes again to Your light.
In Jesus’ Name, amen.

When My Eyes Learned to See the Light

Day’s Journey — Micro Devotional

Scripture Sidebar

Arise, shine; for your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.”
Isaiah 60:1

Reflection

After years of emotional abuse, gaslighting, and indifference,
I thought something was wrong with me.
I didn’t
believe I was worthy of Love—
because I didn’t know what Love looked like.

What I had known as “emotional love” was manipulation.
It came with strings attached.
Control disguised as care.

In my mind’s eye, I saw a cruel taskmaster—
pulling strings, provoking, punishing.
I realized it wasn’t only a person.
It was a
spirit working through the shell of a person.

When God opened my eyes to the spiritual realm of darkness,
I finally saw the LIGHT.

Isaiah 60 became my anchor.
It called me out of confusion and into clarity.
Out of shame and into worth.
Not through striving—but through Christ, my Savior.

Light does not argue with darkness.
It simply appears.

And when it does, you begin to move forward.

Sacred Pause

Close your eyes for a moment.

Breathe in light.
Release darkness.

Whisper gently:
“I am worthy of love.”

Prayer

Jesus,
Thank You for opening my eyes.
Where manipulation once lived, establish truth.
Where darkness once ruled, let Your light remain.

Teach me what real Love looks like—
Love without control, fear, or strings attached.
I choose Your light.
I follow You forward.

Amen.
