Mr. Martinez isn’t only drawn to Lindsey—he’s quietly captivated by her.
Every morning, without fail, he finds a reason to stop by The Gathering for one… maybe two… of Lindsey’s famous cookies. She’s shared the recipe more than once—graciously, even playfully—but somehow, his never tastes like hers. Same ingredients. Same measurements. Same oven. Yet the difference remains.

One morning, he takes a bite and pauses like he’s listening to something deeper than flavor. Then, with that half-smile he gets when his heart is showing, he asks,
“Why are your cookies so good… and healthy?”
Lindsey looks down, shy in that way strength sometimes is. A soft giggle slips out before she answers:
“Everything is made with Love.”
And that’s when the moment becomes more than a cookie.
Because when God created everything, He did so intentionally. Nothing was accidental. Nothing was careless. He spoke into chaos and formed beauty with order—then He called it good. The world was made by a God whose very nature is Love, and His Love isn’t sentimental. It’s purposeful. Creative. Holy. Love that builds. Love that heals. Love that stays.
But life has a way of rushing the meaning out of things.
When we hurry, we start doing tasks instead of offering presence.
We start “getting things done” instead of seeing people.
We move fast, but we miss the sacred.
Lindsey doesn’t.
She serves out of Love—and she understands something many forget: Love isn’t just a word we say when it’s convenient. Love is Word in action. Love is patient when it would be easier to snap. Love is kind when it would be easier to withdraw. Love is merciful when pride wants to keep score. Love is compassionate when someone else would rather judge from a distance.
That’s why her cookies are different.
Not because she’s hiding some secret ingredient.
But because she’s living one.
And Mr. Martinez? He’s tasting what the world can’t manufacture:
the quiet holiness of Love made visible.

Father in Heaven,
Thank You for the small, holy moments that carry Your fingerprints—morning light through a café window, shared laughter, warm cookies, and kindness that feels like home. LORD, forgive us for the times we rush past what matters most. Forgive us for treating Love like a word instead of a way. Cleanse our hearts from pride, impatience, and the need to control. Teach us to slow down and see with Your eyes.
Your Word says, “God is not a God of confusion but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33). So we ask You: bring Your order into our lives—not the order of performance, but the order of peace. Bring order into our homes, our classrooms, our conversations, and our inner world. Where anxiety has made us grasp for control, lead us back to surrender. Where pride has cracked the foundation, repair us with humility.
LORD, remind us that everything You created was made with intention and Love. As it is written, “Let all that you do be done in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14). Teach us to serve like You—patient, kind, merciful, compassionate. For Your Word says, “Love is patient and kind… it is not proud… it is not easily angered… it keeps no record of wrongs” (1 Corinthians 13:4–5). Make Your Love real in us—Love that shows up, Love that gives, Love that stays.
Jesus, You loved us first. “We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). Fill us again with that first Love—so our hands carry gentleness, our words carry grace, and our presence carries peace. Let Love become our daily offering, not something we save for special moments.
And when we feel inadequate—when our best efforts still fall short—remind us that the secret isn’t perfection, it’s You. As it is written, “Apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). Abide in us, LORD, and let the fruit of Your Spirit grow in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22–23).
Today, we choose Love in action.
We choose Your order over our striving.
We choose trust over control.
We choose presence over hurry.
In Jesus’ Name, amen.
