Quiet Prayer to Begin Lord Jesus, who welcomes and who feeds, who speaks and who restores—teach us the balance of serving and sitting. Let our tables reflect Your heart. Amen. The café was quieter than usual that morning. A veteran sat near the window, staring out the window longer than necessary. Two teachers lingered in…
Category: Storyteller
I love storytelling. It has helped me get through some of the hardest things in my life, such as the loss of my son. From childhood, I learned how to use imagery and visualization to help me live through hell by imagining myself overcoming things that I should not have. As I grew up in the knowledge of God, I realized these were gifts, parables from heaven above, and I was never alone; God was leading me through and out all along. Praise and Glory to God alone. In this series of Third Heaven, Elizabeth (she made an oath to God) prays for her granddaughter and her loved ones (Kiran, which means warrior of God). If you read the story, you become Elizebeth and Kiran are those your heart is praying for and declaring the promises of God by faith in Jesus Christ our LORD and SAVIOR, to the GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER, amen
Today
Quiet Prayer to Begin Faithful God, steady hearts that are growing in influence. Guard them from pride in blessing and from fear in opposition. Establish what You have planted, in Jesus’ Name, Amen. The Gathering — “Just Give Me Today” What began as quiet conversations over coffee had become something far greater than Rodrigo and…
Today
“He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.” Father in Heaven, Today we repent for the old striving—the belief that if we could find the perfect prayer, the perfect wording, the…
Gossip is Not Welcomed at the Gathering, The Coop is Around the Corner
Lindsey’s voice was steady, but her hands still remembered what fear felt like. “I grew up in a religious background,” she began, glancing down at the rim of her mug as if she could still see the old years there. “And for a long time I believed… if I was good enough—if I prayed enough—and…
Made with LOVE
Mr. Martinez isn’t only drawn to Lindsey—he’s quietly captivated by her. Every morning, without fail, he finds a reason to stop by The Gathering for one… maybe two… of Lindsey’s famous cookies. She’s shared the recipe more than once—graciously, even playfully—but somehow, his never tastes like hers. Same ingredients. Same measurements. Same oven. Yet the…

Before God ever spoke, “Let there be,” the story opens with a world without form and void—a deep chaos waiting under the hovering presence of the Spirit (Genesis 1). Then God spoke, and with His Word came light, separation, boundaries, rhythm, purpose—not only creation, but order. As Mr. Martinez said, when God created everything, He…
The Gathering — “For a Time Such as This”
Quiet Prayer to Begin Lord Jesus, let this scene carry Your compassion without performance. Let charity be rooted in worship, and let Lindsey’s story honor Your redemption. Amen. Anchor Scriptures: Mark 12:29–34 • Romans 12:1 After Jenny checked out Rodrigo and Elizabeth, she tucked the moment away like a secret she didn’t know she needed—tenderness…
The Gathering: Perfectly Loved
Quiet Prayer to Begin Father, let Your Word flow naturally through this moment. May Scripture not feel inserted, but lived. Let perfect Love quiet fear in every heart at this table. Amen. The Gathering — “Perfectly Loved” The music swelled gently through the café just as Rodrigo and Elizabeth stood to leave. Elizabeth’s eyes lifted…
Those Little Foxes
Quiet Prayer to Begin Lord, teach us to recognize when frustration reveals a deeper pruning. Guard our tongues when emotion rises. Let Your Word not be used as a weapon, but as a mirror. Amen. The Gathering — “Little Foxes” The café door chimed softly as Rodrigo stepped inside. He paused just long enough to…
Golden Frogs
Quiet Prayer to Begin Holy Spirit, guard this reflection from fear and fill it with clarity. Teach us to test what glitters. Keep us anchored in truth. Amen. The Golden Frogs (A Reflection from 1 John 3) Not all frogs are obvious. Some are golden. They shine. They appear rare. They seem like answers to long-prayed prayers….
